Mercedes-AMG has just teased what looks like its next big step into electrified performance: a mysterious, orange-hued hypercar that appears to be based on the Vision One-Eleven concept. With design nods to the classic C111 and cutting-edge electric tech, AMG may be preparing a direct rival to the Porsche Mission X.
A Nod to the Past
The Vision One-Eleven drew heavy inspiration from the experimental C111 of the 1970s. This new teaser shows similar cues—especially the bold orange paint and vented hood—which strongly suggest the concept is evolving into a production car.
What the Teasers Show
- Iconic Orange Paint
The bright orange shade matches both the Vision One-Eleven and the original C111. - Aggressive Aero
A large black vent on the hood with angular strakes screams high performance. - No Rear Window
The second teaser shows the roof with a large AMG logo and no rear glass—possibly indicating rear-mounted motors or a race-style design.
Expected Powertrain
Here’s what we know about the likely specs:
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Platform | AMG.EA (dedicated EV performance architecture) |
| Voltage | 800V |
| Battery | Cylindrical cells by Sila Nanotechnologies (USA) |
| Motors | Axial flux units by YASA (UK), 489 hp and 800 Nm each |
| Weight (motor) | Just 24 kg |
| Estimated Power Output | Possibly over 1,000 hp |
Not the Electric Sedan
Although AMG is working on a four-door electric performance sedan, the lack of a rear window and the aggressive hood vents suggest this is not that car. This feels more like a low-volume halo car designed to push the brand’s electric future.
AMG’s All-Electric Future
After the AMG ONE, this model could be AMG’s next flagship—except fully electric. The use of lightweight motors, high-density batteries, and futuristic design shows AMG is going all in on electrification.
