Fiat is entering the final phase before launching its much-anticipated 500 Hybrid, and the news couldn’t be more promising. Not only is the price even lower than originally expected, but the Italian brand has also announced a special launch edition to celebrate its historic return to Turin.
Mirafiori Keeps Its Promise
On July 4, 2025, marking the company’s 126th anniversary, Fiat officially confirmed that the Fiat 500 Hybrid will be produced at the iconic Mirafiori plant in Turin starting from November 2025. After months of rumors and spyshots, the brand is finally delivering on its promise to return production to its roots.
Fiat plans to build 5,000 units before the end of the year, with a long-term objective of ramping up to 100,000 units annually. This production shift is a strategic move that brings both symbolic and industrial significance.

An Even More Attractive Price
Fiat is making the 500 Hybrid even more appealing by setting the price significantly below market expectations. As previously revealed, the new 500 Hybrid will start at under €20,000. Today, the brand confirms a starting price of just €17,000 in Italy, making it a very aggressive offering compared to the fully electric Fiat 500e, which remains much more expensive.
This pricing strategy is aimed at a wide audience, including former customers of the previous generation 500 Hybrid, which was produced in Tychy, Poland and reached volumes of around 180,000 units at its peak.
A 500th Look, a FireFly Heart
Visually, the new Fiat 500 Hybrid remains very close to the electric 500e. It maintains the same compact, curvy, neo-retro styling that defines the iconic city car. The only noticeable difference is a functional grille opening under the front logo, required to cool the combustion engine.
Under the hood, Fiat confirms the use of the FireFly 1.0-liter mild-hybrid engine, a three-cylinder block delivering 71 horsepower. It will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, ensuring a fuel-efficient and affordable driving experience.
Standard Equipment and Urban Tech
In terms of features, Fiat intends to offer solid value. The 500 Hybrid will come equipped with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and compatibility with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Urban driving aids such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition will also be included.
From launch, three body styles will be available:
- Berlina
- 3+1 (with rear-hinged door for easier access)
- Cabrio
The Special “Torino” Edition
Fiat also used the July 4th occasion to announce a surprise: the confirmation of a special edition called Fiat 500 Torino, paying tribute to the city of Turin and its workers. While rumors of this edition have circulated since summer 2024, it is now officially part of the launch campaign.
Fiat clarified that the model will not carry the name “Torino” permanently, but will likely adopt a name such as Ibrida while preserving the special edition’s spirit.
